Can I ask my orthodontist to take my braces off, and will they still put the wire on afterwards behind my teeth?

my orthodontist is constantly rude and makes my appointment times further away. he said they would probably be on longer then the year and a half. now they haven't been on for a year and a half yet but the time is coming up close, they should be taken off in April this year, but they wont be. so can I ask for them to be removed and will they still put the wire behind my teeth if I do ask them? please help

If you can wear your retainer, please do. It may fit tight and your teeth may get a little sore. Depending on how much shifting has happened since you haven't been wearing your retainers, this should move your teeth back. Based on the photos you provided, I would say that the treatment time should not take more than a year to achieve a perfect smile. After all the spaces are closed, my recommendations permanent upper and lower retainers to prevent any shift of your front teeth in the future
