I'm unhappy with Invisalign, can I reverse it?

I completed Invisalign treatment about 4 months ago because of crossbite and lower crowding. I am very unhappy as I started to experience severe TMJ (which I never had before) about midway into treatment. The TMJ is only getting worse with time. Can I wear my aligners in reverse to get my old healthy bite back? Would that help my TMJ symptoms? I only had one IPR and no extractions so I think reversing the treatment could be possible.

If you want things to go backwards, I suppose you simply wear your old aligners backwards all the way to aligner #1, then that should bring you back to how you were. That one IPR would just be a gap once you’ve completed your reversal. By going back to how you were may not resolve your TMJ issue. I know you think it may because when you were your old bite, your TMJ was fine. But now that your TMJ has issues, after going back you still may have issues. Just don’t want you to believe by going back to your old bite, everything will go away. Hopefully it will, but don’t be surprised if it didn’t.
