Do retainers after braces prevent a tongue thrust from moving your teeth?

It would be quite a challenge to make an old, non-fitting retainer realign your teeth.  Certainly not worth the time or effort trying.  Just get a new "active" retainer, or even aligners to take care of any minor issues.
