Letrozole is an aromatase inhibitor used for treating breast cancers which are hormonally responsive. Fortunately, there is no interaction between standard HA fillers and letrozole, and none of the fillers will impair its effectiveness. So you can go ahead.
Thank you for yourquestion. Hyaluronic aciddoes not interact with Letrozole, and will not increase your risk or relapse ofBreast Cancer. You can have facial fillers while taking Letrozole, becausefillers are comprised of hyaluronic acid which is a natural substance that isalready present in your skin. Hyaluronic acid is extracted and reformulatedwhich has now become one of the most popular kinds of injectable fillers.Additionally, fillers are a great way to rejuvenate the skin by volumizing andsmoothing out fine lines and wrinkles. At my practice I understand that everyone’s“ideal” look correlates to their facial structure, which is why a properin-office procedure is always required. Here is a tutorial of how I approachand perform fillers at my practice. Best, Dr. Ostad.
There should not be any issue with facial fillers and taking letrozole. If you have any specific concerns, you can always discuss them with your physician/surgeon. Best wishes.
Dear sugber: I can certainly understand why you might be considering this treatment. Many of my patients with a history of breast cancer get a psychological as well as physical lift from having filler injections, or facial recontouring with fillers. You can be assured that letrozole is in no way a contraindication for filler treatments. The aromatase inhibitors can have detrimental effects on the skin, so it is helpful to take steps to counteract that. You might wish to consider topical medicated products or cosmeceuticals to rejuvenate the skin more superficially and prevent some of the deleterious effects of letrozole on the skin. Your dermatologist should be able to help you formulate a skin care regimen drawing upon a retinoid, glycolic acid, green tea polyphenol, resveratrol, vitamin C, and/or fibroblast growth-factor cream/gel/lotion/serum/peels.Truly wishing you all the best and wonderful health for decades to come,Dr. Clark
Thank you for your question.Any product that has exceeded an expiration date should not be used. To be sure, see two or more board-certified providers in your area for a complete evaluation to make sure you are a good candidate and that it is safe for you to have treatment. I hope this helps.
