Fractional laser is an amazing and highly effective treatment in our office. We use the laser treatment to help with acne scars, large pores, fine wrinkles, tissue collagen loss, scars, sebaceous hyperplasia, active acne, and for brightening dark pigmentation. Although there are very strong fractional lasers such as CO2 laser, we use lighter treatments for corrective skincare and maintenance of results. Our Thulium fractional laser, clear and brilliant laser, and Ultra Thulium laser are excellent options in our clinic. We also perform CO2 fractional and erbium depending on skin tone and tolerance for downtime. Patients do have to use a Melarase cream before and after treatment to help further reduce pigmentation after laser. Melarase AM, Melarase PM, and Melapads can seriously improve surface sun damage and UV related pigmentation. Dark spots can improve with these treatments. I recommend fractional laser for incisional scars as well, especially after plastic surgery. Best,Dr. Karamanoukian Realself100 Surgeon
It would be helpful to have photos and your age to know what you are looking to tighten. Midface, jaw line, and or neck?Although laser resurfacing can help tighten skin, its main purpose is to rejuvenate the skin- fine lines, age spots, discoloration, and shrink pore size.If you are concerned that non surgical skin tightening modalities such as Ultherapy and Thermage (and others) will melt away desirable fat (very rare complication) then you should consider a LIquid Lift. By restoring lost facial volume in the cheeks, under the eyes, jaw line, temples you can get significant lifting especially if you have lost support in those key areas and have good skin tone and elasticity.I wouldn't say no to Fraxel or Clear & Brilliant as having flawless skin can take 10 years off of our age. This can be done in conjunction with a liquid lift.Good luck
Fraxel and clear + brilliant do not help for sagging/laxity. They work good for fine lines and wrinkles but skin tightening and fillers/volume is needed for laxity. Best, Dr. Emer.
It is the balance between skin texture (pigment, fine wrinkles), skin tone (laxity) and volume that gives the best results. Fraxel is great for skin texture- namely a refresh of your skin, with an improvement in fine and in some cases medium wrinkles. If you skin has laxity, it may lack volume, and hence fillers can address both issues. Our office has many different treatments for scars depending on the depth of atrophy or hypertrophy. Scars require a combination approach using our HI DEF protocol which uses a combination of lasers, topical scar modulation, and RF treatments to pixelate scars, improve contour, reduce...
OK, the best treatment is not going to be Fraxel. Acne scars treattments should be tailored according to the scar type and not the machine. Find below a quick review on some fractional lasers, however my best advice is to see a specialist in the field of acne scar management. All the bestDr D...
