Dental implant felt on gums

Question

I got my dental implant 7 weeks ago, after I lost front top tooth in an accident. I had X-Rays recently, in which my dentist said that the healing is taking place normally, but he asked me to clean the area of gums properly with fingertips/cotton while brushing twice daily. I can feel the dental implant post under my gums, slightly above gumline, but it is not visible, and also does not cause pain. I have my appointment scheduled after 10 days.. Is this situation urgent?

Since the gum covering the implant is often thin, you could be feeling the screw that is covering the implant.  Keep the area clean without trauma to the gum. And see your dentist. He might have to change this cover screw to a healing screw which is longer. This will decrease risk of infection and bone loss around the implant bgood luck

do not worry about that. its very common. and also do not touch implant site again and again or do not feel it with tongue.

This is fine. Not to worry. Implants can become visible through the gum at any time post operatively. Implants may even start to penetrate through the gums often times. This may or may not require remedial treatment depending on the amount of strong gum present versus moveable gums. Your surgeon will let you know how it's healing.

This is usually a normal feeling as the implant has a collar on top that is called a healing abutment.  So technically you are not feeling the implant but a component connected to it.  Now since the gums are so thin on the implant this may mean that during the second stage your doctor may decide to do a gum graft to thicken up the gums around the implant.  This may be a good idea as it will make your final tooth look better and reduce the chance of seeing a dark line around the crown.
