I got the peel on saturday. For after care, i was told to use aquaphor instead of the post peel protectant and sunscreen. My face doesn't feel dry. Only slight peeling in my temple area on right side of my face. I have significant acne scarring and hyperpigmentation. I have dark skin of african descent. I paid $400 for the peel and am worried i wasted my money. I've seen so many youtube videos of the peeling process my peeling looks so mild. Should i which to the post peel protectant instead of aquaphor.

Thanks for your question. Although it is tempting to "help" the skin off you really need to allow the skin to come off naturally. Peeling the skin too soon can cause damage and make the recovery longer than it needs to be. It is important to apply the post peel protectant and sunscreen multiple times a day. It is a good idea to contact the office where you had the peel and relay this information with them so they may assist you with any complications from peeling the skin off too soon. Best of luck!
