Laser hair removal & number of sessions for full beard area? (Photos)

Hello. I went for a consultation for laser hair removal of my full beard area (lower face and neck). The doctor said I’d need about 12 sessions to permanently remove all my facial hair. Isn’t this a lot? I thought you typically need about 6-8 laser sessions for permanent hair removal?

It will take a series of treatments to get improvement. I typically have patients do laser hair removal every 4 weeks for the first 3 sessions and then every 4 to 6 weeks for the following 3 sessions. This schedule gives great results with hair removal. It looks like you are a fitzpatrick skin type six which would mean you would need a yag laser treatment.  on average it is six monthly treatments.  Your hair is particularly dense so you might need more.  I would suggest the gentlemax. pro laser.  make sure you shave not pluck before your treatments in order to be left with stubble only to increase maximum effect.
