Hello. I went for a consultation for laser hair removal of my full beard area (lower face and neck). The doctor said I’d need about 12 sessions to permanently remove all my facial hair. Isn’t this a lot? I thought you typically need about 6-8 laser sessions for permanent hair removal?

You need to think of laser hair removal as permanent. Therefore, the hair changes that you now have after the first treatment should be considered permanent. There would be no guarantee that a single session in your pubic area would result in the exact same patchiness as your chest.

Undergoing laser hair removal while taking Azithromycin is not recommended. Azithromycin can be photo-sensitizing. This medication should be discontinued a month before your treatment.
