I had Lasik 4 days ago for my nearsightedness in my right eye (-1.5). Post surgery, my distance vision is much improved. However, my close up vision is much worse. 0.25 D is not considered a large enough change to call your prescription unstable. 0.25-0.50D changes are still considered within range when establishing stability. I would recommend going in for a LASIK consultation to see if you would be a good candidate for LASIK.
