If you do the version of cosmelan without hydroquinone you really can do it any time. I'd wait 6 to 8 weeks to allow your body some recovery time so you can peel efficiently after the treatment. The better rested and healthier you are the shorter the recovery time--in general. The packaging says not to use while nursing so its probably better to wait if you are breast feeding. There are no studies on the systemic absorption and breast milk excretion so we don't know for sure what happens. There is also a cream that contains retinoic acid that you use afterwards--which is also questionable to use during breast feeding. Better safe than sorry!Hope this is useful!Dr. Amy
