I'm 19 year old female currently on my second month of Spironolactone and my acne is worse now, what do I do?

I'm 19 year old female suffering from severe hair loss (TE ) and severe cystic acne since 5 years. I have tried everything , and now I'm on spironolactone 50mg per day. It's my second month on this medicine and my acne has got worse. There are big cystic acne all around my face , specially my mouth and chin. I am really confused whether I should stop eating it or increase the dosage. Nothing is helping my acne. Please help me.

Spironolactone and trinessa do not have any specific interactions with each other.  However, spironolactone can cause menstrual irregularities. Triphasic birth control pills such as your trinessa can also sometimes cause menstrual irregularities on their own, altho it sounds like your issue...

As far as spironolactone side effects, it can cause its own menstrual irregularities esp when you first use it. Since it is originally a diuretic blood pressure agent, you have to monitor potassium. Weight gain shouldnt really be an issue since you tend to urinate more fluids when you are on...
