Which dental implant needs only a gum tissue hole or punch rather than an incision across the gum line?

Question

Need 2 lower left implants but I wish the least amount of tissue cut. Tissue cutting and suturing usually means extra post op pain just like in gum tissue grafting. That has hurt!

The type of implant does not matter in regards to this technique. What matters is the width of the bone.  When it is very wide, you can tissue punch the gum & place the implant easily. When the width is at the minimum needed to place the implant most doctors will prefer to open to visualize the implant placement to see if the implant drill is thinning out the bone and weakening it or to verify it is at the proper bone height. This is a great question.  The best way to achieve your goal is to have the entire case planned ahead of time on the computer.  This is how we do it.  FIrst, get a CBCT scan so the dentist knows where the bone as important anatomy are.  Next get a digital or conventional model of your teeth so the dentist can plan where the future tooth is going to go.  The dentist will plan the entire case on the computer, perform the implant placement without any incisions and be able to place it in the most ideal location.  This is really a game changer for dental implant placement.

It is not the type of implant system but rather the technique involved with placing implants through a tissue punch.  A 3D cone beam scan is taken of the area and the implants are designed on a computer.  Then a surgical guide is made that allows the dentists to place the implants exactly as designed without the need for flaps and sutures.  And yes there is usually less post op pain with this technique.
