My son's front tooth is turning a light shade a pink! Any thoughts?

Not sure how old your son is but if he has bumped a permanent front tooth then there is some trauma to the tooth from the initial trauma and again when he knocked off the bonding.  Seeing your dentist and letting them take a x-ray to check if their is a abcess is important.  Trauma can cause the nerve to bleed into the tooth.  Sometimes it goes away but usually it is in need of a root canal.  Good luck-W

It's possible that the inflamed pulpal tissue is "oozing" into the dentin. See an endodontist (root canal specialist) right away.

I'm assuming this is a permanent tooth we are talking about.

You should see an experienced dentist or endodontist (root canal specialist). It is possible that the nerve has died gradually and now the byproducts of the dead nerve are staining the tooth from the inside out. The other, more serious problem, could be that the nerve not dead but is resorbing the tooth structure from the inside out. Basically the nerve is growing out of control and eating away the tooth. This is called internal resorption.  Both conditions are common after a trauma (could be soon after or years later). An X-ray and vitality testing will give a diagnosis. Either way, root canal therapy is the treatment, however the internal resorption can be very destructive and the tooth may not be able to be saved, depends on how advanced.
