Can my New Cover Up Tattoo Be Removed? (photo)

Question

I had a small black tattoo that was about 5 years old. Long story short I went to a guy who I trust who has done a few other of my tattoos and he pretty much told me the only color that would cover it was blue. Because I trusted him I let him do it, I had seen his cover up work before and they were good. Once he started with the blue I immediately hated it! I am so upset about this!! Can the wave part of this tattoo be completely removed? ( just the part on my ankle, where the cover up is?)

Hi Scutts.  The answer is yes.  The issue is not whether it can be removed but how many treatments it would take.  We would be using the Palomar QYag V or the Medlite C6 and the number of treatments would be estimated between 8-12.

Yes, all or part of your new tattoo can be removed. When you treat the new tattoo, the original black tattoo underneath will also be removed. The new PicoSure laser works well on blue ink. PicoSure generally takes about 4 treatments spaced 3-4 weeks apart.

Yes you can have your cover up removed, either totally or just a piece of it. With the blue ink your best bet is the Picosure laser. It has been shown to remove difficult colors with just a few treatments.
