Is the restoration in the filling a composite resin bonded filling or a crown? In the photo it looks like the former, and a nice porcelain crown would give you a much more natural looking results. Keep in mind that porcelain crowns do cost more than bonded fillings and if you have financial challenges your dentist may have been trying to treat you the best way he could and keep within your budget.

Make sure you find a dentist who does this routinely, who uses a top of the line dental lab and the crown has to be metal free for proper appearance.
