My dentist gave me two different veneer shades when I picked one shade for them all, what can I do? (photo)

Hello Mer,Glad to read your update and that your dentist adjusted your teeth.For future references, to avoid this kind of issue you should definitely consider metal-free zirconium crowns. This will guarantee the comfort, size, shape and shade of your teeth.

It is standard procedure for many cosmetic dentists to show the patient the veneers or front (anterior) crowns before bonding or cementing them into place. Did he do that? Did he show you the veneers on your teeth before he bonded them?In our practice, which does a lot of veneers, we always not only show the patients them in place prior to bonding them, we also ask them if they accept them to be bonded and even have them sign a consent form stating that they have seen them and accept them.I can understand how frustrated both you and your dentist are. Redoing veneers or crowns are a losing event for everyone...the patient, the dentist and the ceramist who made them.I suggest you have a have a heart to heart talk with your dentist, but be careful of how you approach and speak with him. If you get him on the defensive it will make things more difficult for everyone.If you are absolutely certain that they are unacceptable and you definitely want them redone, then explain that you want him to redo them again so that they all match or your will have to go to another cosmetic dentist. Another thing to keep in mind that in dentistry your dentist is working very personal zone, usually his face is within 18" of yours. If you don't have a trusting relationship with him now, my prediction is that you will never be happy with the results. And, if either or both of you are angry or have an attitude about all this, it is probably best you seek another dentist. It gets really difficult and challenging when dentistry is done when either the dentist or patient is hostile towards the other.

Did he not let you approve the veneers prior to bonding them to your teeth? If he did, and your signed off, there is not much you can do except appeal to his sense of decency.If he did not let you preview, a refund or remake is in order.
