Lower dentures are very hard to stabilize and many patients complain of loose lower dentures. The bone under a denture will shrink over time which makes a denture loose. Weight loss can also loosen the denture. If the ridge supporting the denture is fairly flat, the teeth will ride up with eating and speaking. Implants are the best option to help preserve the remaining bone and to act like a fencepost to support a denture.
An Implant Retained overdenture will address this issue. If a traditional denture does not fit well because of bone and tissue loss adding 2-4 STANDARD implants, NOT mini implants will address the issue in most instances. They will help to retain your denture and you will be very happy. Mini Implants are a temporary fix and often destroy the remaining bone you do have. This causes a problem with any subsequent procedures. If you have standard implants placed from the start, this will not occur, Seek the consultation of a Board Certified Oral & Maxillofacial Surgeon for your options
Try to reline the denture first. If that doesn't do it, consider mini implants and conversion of your current denture to an overdenture
