Loud pop from implant, rupture or closed capsulotomy?

`If you have saline implants, a rupture would result in deflation of the breast and noticeable size change. If silicone, a rupture might lead to pain, localized inflammation, hardening, or possibly no acute symptoms at all. A capsular tear would certainly explain the symptoms you describe but you need to be examined in the office to actually assess and advise you properly. An MRI may be helpful at imaging, as it can detect implant rupture and inflammatory reactions around the capsule.

It does sound like you may have torn the scar tissue (capsule) or the implant may have ruptured.  The best way to assess this is with an MRI and physical exam.  Find an ASPS board certified plastic surgeon in your area to consult with.  You don't state the age of your implants but older implants can be more fragile.  If it is ruptured, it is not dangerous to you, but should be exchanged for a new implant.  Good luck!
