Skintyte laser on the neck: what are the risks? How long does it take to see any results? (Photo)

Skintyte is a treatment performed with Sciton BBL which is more powerful than IPL, but it's not a laser. Skintyte utilizes near infrared energy to heat tissues. Heating to a specific temperature target range causes collagen contraction while simultaneously stimulating your skin to produce its own collagen/elastinwhich results in improvement in skin tone and firmness. It takes several sessions, usually evry 2 weeks, and the final results build over several months. Generally, you should maintain your results for up to 2 years, depending on age, diet, etc.
The actual procedure uses the Sciton BBL handpiece , gel is applied and the handpiece is moved back and forth over each segment until the target temperature  (40-42 degrees Celsius) is reached. The tissue is then held in this temperature range for several minutes until a target number of joules is delivered. You will notice the skin gradually heat up in the area. The results improve as the collagen builds. It's a great procedure that is pain free and essentially no downtime.
