I've had this mole since I was in my early 20's. I would like to know if I can have it taken off in a Dr's office or do I need a plastic surgeon?

A flesh colored mole in the crease such as yours is so easy to remove. It can be shaved flat for roughly $175+ office visit $85 and will look great but may recur and need to be done again in a few yrs. Or it can be excised and sutured up with a little dermabrasion to fade the edges nicely for roughly $250-350 and be gone for evermore. A shave excision is
typically the easiest, most cost effective, and least likely to scar method of
removal for your mole. With this method the mole is actually "shaved off" at a
level just below the surface of the skin. From 
the appearance of the mole on the photograph, I believe that a shave removal
would be the best way to go. Dermatologic surgeons are experts at doing this procedure.
