Your TMJ problem is basically related to the malposition of both your teeth and jaws. The use of a night guard is not effective, as it is directed towards alleviating the symptoms, rather than the cause of your problems. Invisalign , with possible surgical intervention is your proper choice.

It looks to me from your photos that you have a mismatch in the size of your upper and lower jaws. No amount of braces can cure that without jaw surgery. If the underbite doesn't bother you esthetically, hen it's not a good option for you. When there is a jaw size discrepancy such as yours, the only other choice to treat the wear aspect is a guard. A properly fitted one shouldn't change your bite or move teeth, so I'm not sure why yours would move. Sorry i I can't be more help
