Invisalign New Impressions, Should Attachment Be Removed?

This week I finished all the sets of my invisalign treatment! I had 42 sets upper/39 lower. However my teeth are not "perfect" yet, so today I went, the dentist took new impressions. I found it a bit weird, he did not remove any attachments (I had 15 attachments total), nor did he take any xray or any type of scan, all he did he was took the top/bottom impression and the impression me biting. Is that normal? shouldn't the attachment be removed? shouldn't he do an xray to see the teeth position?

The attachments do not always need to be removed for refinement impressions (redo impressions at the end of the first or second set). 

	If the treating doctor is happy with the make-up of the attachments and their location, she/he may elect to leave them on for the new set.  

	Other times, we take them off, if we want a different type of movement/force on the tooth. 

	If an intra-oral scan (iTero Scan) was taken, photographs are usually not needed at this appointment.  Prior to getting the iTero Scanner at our office, we would also take a new set of photos for the refinement impression appointment.  

	If there are ever any concerns, best bet is to bring it up with your treating doctor.  They know your treatment and progress the best.
