2 months post op LASIK, should I ask for enhancement?

Approximately 1-2% of patients who have custom Intralase LASIK will require refinement procedures due to their individual response to the excimer laser treatment. It is our policy to wait three months before refinement in order to assure refractive stability. 

Congratulations on having your vision fixed, and I'm sorry you are of the few experiencing some early frustration. There are two issues here. The first is when do do a LASIK enhancement provided you are a candidate. I generally wait at least three months, and until the measurements have stabilized. Usually these enhancements are quite routine and I would tell you to expect better than 20/30! That is assuming that as of now you can see well with a small glasses correction. For example, your new prescription might be -0.50 and with that you can see 20/20 or better. This is very likely the case, so I expect you will end up with a great result. In extremely rare cases, the vision is not correctable with any glasses lens better than 20/40; in those unique situations no general guidelines apply.Good luck and let us know how you do!

At 2 months, it's still too early to know if you've reached your end-point. Wait the full three months--if you're still not happy with the result, by all means ask what can be done to improve your situation.
