Can I mix Differin with retinol?

Question

I have been using differin for about a year for acne, but have been wanting anti aging benefits as well. Of course retin a would be a good option but I don’t want to visit a derm. Can I mix a retinol serum with my differin and apply them together for both anti aging and acne benefits?

Thank you for your question.Differin gel (generic name is adapalene) is a retinoid, which is stronger then retinol serums. Mixing the two products may cause irritation or redness, so I highly recommend applying a test spot to the side of your jawline and monitor for any reaction prior to applying to entire face.
