Can long-term use of prednisone age you and would it reverse if discontinued?

Hi, So I was diagnosed with Lupus STE several years ago. My Rheumatologist has had me on Prednisone 5mg a for the last few year, but I feel this medication has aged me, very quickly as my Lupus is well under control. Is this common with Prednisone, and would if reverse if discontinued?
