Lump under eye after Ellanse - 1 year post procedure. What is it and how can I treat it? (Photos)

Procedure was performed 12 months ago for my 50th bday. Swelling started a few days afterwards and reviewed to ensure it was not infected. Tried dissolving in case it was old filler which had migrated to no avail.

At least from the photos and history proivided, this appears to be what has come to be termed under-eye "puffy pillows."  Typically these may result from an improper choice of filler for the infraorbital area and/or too superfiical placement of the filler leading to lymphatic obstruction. They can be quite difficult to treat. I have been having success in shrinking these unsightly pouches in patients who have come to me from elsewhere using an algorithm consisting of intralesional injections of varying combinations, concentrations, and amounts of anti-inflammatory agents. You would be wise to make sure to consult with a board certified cosmetic dermatologist and best of luck.

This looks like malar edema (swelling of the lower eyelid), possibly due to poor lymphatic drainage. This can be made worse after undereye fillers and Ellanse. Difficult to comment for sure without knowing where the Ellanse was injected and how much. For malar edema, this is typically self resolving and can be improved with cold compress and massage
