I'm a female, and I don't like my smile, even though I've done invisalign. My teeth are small and a good portion of my gums show when I smile. My lips are thin and I have plump cheeks. My jaw is definitely asymmetric, much more noticeable in photos. I think I'm decently attractive when I'm not smiling, I have what people would call a cute babyish face I guess. My smile also makes me look older (I'm 28). Procedure recommendations apprecciated!
Answer: Comprehensive smile makeover consultation Although more studies would be necessary, several cosmetic and dental procedures might help you achieve a smile that aligns with your liking. Here are some recommendations: 1. Gum Contouring (Gingivectomy) or crown lengthening : - This procedure can reshape your gum line to reduce the appearance of a "gummy" smile. It involves removing excess gum tissue and/or bone and can make your teeth appear larger and more proportional. 2. Dental Veneers or Bonding: - Veneers can enhance the size and shape of your teeth, providing a more balanced look to your smile. Composite bonding is a less invasive alternative that can also adjust the size and shape of your teeth. At Empower Your Smile you can have a comprehensive smile makeover consultation with Dr. Patricia Moezinia to help tailor several treatments (gum contouring, veneers, lip augmentation for the thin lips, cheek reduction (Buccal Fat Removal) and talk about orthognathic surgery for the jaw asymmetry).

Answer: SMILE MAKEOVER Thank you for sharing your concerns about your smile! Based on your description, it seems there are several aesthetic and functional dental treatments that could significantly improve your smile, harmonizing it with your facial features and addressing the specific issues you mentioned. Gum Contouring: Since you mentioned that a considerable part of your gums shows when you smile, a procedure known as gum contouring or gingivectomy might be appropriate. This treatment involves reshaping the gum line to reduce its visibility, which can make your teeth appear longer and more proportionate to your face. Lip Augmentation: For thin lips, augmentation with dermal fillers could complement other dental treatments, adding volume to your lips and thus improving the overall aesthetics of your smile. Porcelain Veneers or Zirconia Crowns: If your teeth are small, porcelain veneers or zirconia crowns could be excellent options. These restorations are placed over existing teeth and can be designed to change the shape, size, and color of your teeth, providing durability and a very natural appearance. Botox: For a non-surgical approach that could help manage the appearance of fuller cheeks and achieve a more harmonious facial balance, Botox injections might be useful. These can subtly reshape the lower part of the face, enhancing how your smile frames your face. I recommend consulting with a cosmetic dentist who specializes in aesthetic rehabilitation. They can provide a comprehensive evaluation and discuss the options that best suit your needs and desires. A good treatment plan will consider your entire facial structure and dental health to effectively transform your smile.
