My brackets keep breaking and my orthodontist is threatening to cancel the treatment?

My brackets keep coming of. I do not think it has anything to do with what i am eating as i always eat soft food and make sure any hard food i eat i cut into small pieces. It has got nothing to do the way i brush (this is what the orthodontist told me). I do not chew gum, my finger nails or pens. The orthodontist is also threatening to cancel my treatment if they come off again. I can barely eat comfortable. it feel like every meal is like walking on eggshells. What should i do?

Hi there!So sorry to hear you are having such problems with your brackets staying on. I have seen similar issues in a few patients and I think this problem will stop happening as they replace the brackets. Sometimes what can happen is at the time of placement, your teeth could have gotten a little damp or wet. I would try to schedule a time to have a short chat with your orthodontist about having brackets replaced. Good Luck!

Sorry to hear that. By any chance are you a grinder? If so, it might be a contributing factor. 
If what you say is true, consider asking your doctor to rebond the brackets and they should stay!

If what you say is true then it may not be your fault!  Sometimes the glue is bad or the technique they use went wrong.  In 35 years of doing orthodontics I have never removed braces because of breakage....I just try to help my patients find a way to keep them on
