Would Emsculpt hurt me if I have a minor umbilical hernia from lifting something heavy?

Hi, I have never been formally diagnosed with an umbilical Hernia but my Dr. suspects I may have one after lifting something heavy 7 years ago. If do, it is incredibly minor. I have never done a body treatment and workout regularly.

Honestly, it is hard to know without a proper evaluation if the umbilical hernia could be a problem. Umbilical hernias can be felt by pushing in your belly button with your finger.  Hernias can become medical emergencies if they’re large enough to have parts of the intestines protrude through the opening. It also could be that your hernia is too small or it is just a small piece of fat and not true hernia. The latter options are actually the most likely, but the responsible thing to do is to get it properly evaluated by your doctors.  Emsculpt causes pretty vigorous muscle contractions and it you have a hernia large enough to allow bowel to get trapped it could possibly entrap bowel during the procedure. Technically, your hernia could be treated with EMSculpt, but your physician needs to examine you first to be certain.  It may need to be repaired first, or avoid placing the paddle over it.

Umbilical hernias can be felt by pushing in your belly button with your finger. You’ll feel a soft spot or an opening in the muscle fashion. It typically presents as having an outie bellybutton.
If you can’t feel or see your umbilical hernia then you can consider yourself as not having one.
They are generally considered a cosmetic concern only and typically do not cause any medical problems.
Certain hernias can become medical emergencies if they’re large enough to have parts of the intestine protrude through the opening.
It doesn’t sound like that’s going to be an issue for you.
