Is it safe to use 4% hydroquinone while receiving laser hair removal?

It is recommended to discontinue the use of skin lightening creams such as hydroquinone at least 2 weeks prior to treatment. I would advise to stop using hydroquinone during the whole duration of your laser hair removal sessions to avoid any adverse reactions or skin discolorations. A test spot is highly suggested before treating skin types IV-VI. It is always best to educate yourself of the risks of using skin lightening products before using them.

You should avoid all alpha hydroxy and beta hydroxyl products (AHA/BHA), hydroquinone, 
retinoids, Tazorac, and Differin for 7 days before treatment.

You should stop using HQ at least 4 to 5 days before your LHR treatment. Also if you are using Retin A you should discontinue that as well.
