What's wrong with my breast implant? Not round normal shape (Photos)

Hello,Implants take on the shape of the pocket, and one of your pockets does not have a nice, round lower portion. This may be due to the surgeon's execution or to the healing process (scaring). Regardless, your efforts to massage are worthless and should stop.  Science tells us that it is ineffective at preventing or treating capsular contracture, and that it is unnecessary for normal healing. Have a discussion with your surgeon.  If at some point a revision surgery is considered, do yourself a favor and insist on an inframammary incision to prevent a host of potential problems associated with revision surgery through a peri-areolar incision.  Best of luck!

I understand your concern but you need to be patient with the process and you need to wait and massage.  I would bring this up to your surgeon and see what her recommends as well.

Your will need to be patient at this moment and follow what your surgeon has instructed you to do post operatively.
At the early stage of the healing process, the tissues around the implants are still swollen. Once the swelling subsides and the implants drop to their final position, you will be able to see the final result of your breast augmentation surgery.Daniel Barrett, MD, MHA, MS

Hello, there does appear to be a difference in the shape of the lower breasts.  This would be something to discuss with your surgeon so they diagnose the issue and follow it along (this is hard to do based on a photo).  If it doesn't improve they can discuss potential treatment options.

Your left breast appears to have an irregularly shaped pocket. It may be that the fold has been partially violated near the breast bone and the pocket is tighter out toward the side, resulting in this slanted, irregular inner pocket shape. I doubt this will correct with massage or time. You need to be examined, and a revision should be offered. This may need to be done through the inframammary fold to better control your shape and reduce the risk of capsular contracture. Your periareolar scarring is somewhat hard to see in the photos but I see what appears to be some depigmentation. This may correct on its own or you may benefit from tattooing to try to round out the coloring.

It will be impossible to give you any useful advice here based only on the images you provide, because so many things could be going on.  The one thing that I can say for certain is that I agree with you, from these pictures there does appear to be a difference in the shape of the two breasts.  You are still early in the recovery time, so this may change with time, however, it may not depending upon what the exact cause for this is.  For that reason, I think it would be best for you to schedule an appointment with your surgeon very soon to discuss this.  Not that this is an emergency that needs treatment tomorrow, but some things that happen in the early postop period can be managed better the sooner they are identified.  Your own surgeon will know best exactly how the surgery was done, exactly what type and size of implants were used, and how things should look and feel at this stage after surgery.  This is something that requires a physical exam as well as photos to evaluate.  Best of luck to you!
