My left breast is larger and the nipple is lower than the right one. I understand that most women have asymmetrical breasts but I want mine "perfect". If I get 2 different size implants, will it correct the size and/or nipple problem? Is there anything during surgery or post op that can be done to help "even things out"? After surgery, should I massage the left breast (lower nipple) down more often than the right to assist it in dropping and raising the nipple?
Answer: Correction of #asymmetric-breasts and #nipple-position Correction of #asymmetric-breasts and #nipple-positionAsymmetric press may be corrected with implants or possibly even liposuction reduction of one side. The areola position can be corrected at the time of surgery or as a separate procedure under local.

Answer: Correction of nipple asymmetry with different implants? Thank you for your photo and questions. I wish that I had a more encouraging answer for you, but the short answer is no. Two different sized implants will definitely not correct the existing asymmetry between your breasts. Without a consultation and physical exam it is impossible to give you a definitive opinion on what would give you the best outcome, but I can comment on the photo that you provided. Likely you would require a lift on the side that is lower/larger in addition to having 2 different sized implants placed in order to increase your symmetry. While this would most likely make your breasts much more similar, they will absolutely always be different even with the best surgical outcome possible. Perfect symmetry is just not possible, I am sorry to say. I would encourage you to seek an in-depth consultation with a board certified plastic surgeon in your area to discuss your treatment options and realistic goals. Best wishes!

Answer: How can uneven nipple height be corrected without an additional surgery? Implants alone cannot correct the asymmetry. A variation of a lift on the left side would be necessary to get closer to symmetry. It is important to be realistic about the outcome of any surgery and if you really expect the result to be "perfect", I would suggest that you not undergo any surgical procedure because you will ultimately be disappointed, since improvement is possible but perfection is not achievable.Keep in mind that following the advice from a surgeon on this or any other website who proposes to tell you what to do surgically without examining you, physically feeling the tissue, assessing your desired outcome, taking a full medical history, and discussing the pros and cons of each operative procedure would not be in your best interest. I would suggest you find a plastic surgeon certified by the American Board of Plastic Surgery and ideally a member of the American Society for Aesthetic Plastic Surgery (ASAPS) that you trust and are comfortable with. You should discuss your concerns with that surgeon in person.Robert Singer, MD FACSLa Jolla, California

Answer: Adjust your expectations It is not possible to attain perfection. You will need to adjust your expectations or you are setting yourself up for disappointment. Your starting point is excellent. You should have an excellent result. Your nipples are going to have the same asymmetry after surgery as they do now. I would put a small amount of extra volume in your smaller side, but you are not a good candidate for different size implants.
