My teeth are flared out what can I do to make it better ? I just got my braces off 2wks ago (photo)

Hi, zorayda100! Thank you for your pictures and question. I understand that you're unhappy with the result of your orthodontic treatment. You feel like your teeth are flared out. Based on the photos you've provided I agree with you. I think you have several good options for improving your smile, but you may need to seek a new provider. The most common, and predictable, treatment recommendation would be four (4) premolar (also called bicuspid) extractions. With space behind the front teeth, your flaring can be reduced and your smile improved. I'd recommend finding a Board Certified Orthodontist who can provide a full exam and give you some more details about the process. I'm sure you'll be thrilled with the result. Cheers!

I don't recommend to have any extractions, however with the use of clear aligners, like the Invisalign we can position the teeth in such a way to reduce the flaring greatly and improve your overall esthetics as you want. Nice job with the photos. They do a good job of describing your situation. That situation is teeth that are large in comparison to your bones and face. In order to get them straight they had to be flared. If they were sanded on the sides (called interproximal reduction) then they could be made narrower and brought inward and uprighted. There are limits to interproximal reduction, and if the dentist were to completely remove the enamel from the sides of teeth, then you would need veneers to protect the teeth. I know this all sounds a might complicated, but your resolving your problem is not an easy one and should be entrusted to an dentist with good cosmetic experience. It is mostly a matter of tooth proportions.
