Porcelain veneers after braces, do I still need to wear a retainer?

Hi. I had braces for 2 years. 1 month after I got them out I got porcelain veneers for my 4 upper front teeth. Both my orthodontist and my cosmetic dentist told me that I no longer need to wear a retainer because the teeth won't shift with the veneers on. I just wanted to make sure, are they right?

HI, thanks for sending your question. I highly recommend that you consider wearing retainers at night time. Your teeth can still move despite having veneers done. All the best.

I disagree.  Had you veneered the teeth 3 YEARS after braces, it may be true.  One MONTH after removing braces, the bone that supports teeth is still "settling" and the teeth can still move.  Unless the veneers are attached to each other (which is an odd thing to do), the teeth can STILL move.You would need a NEW retainer, as the original won't FIT, but you should still wear A retainer....
