Can I do Photodynamic therapy 24 hours after Botox?

Question

Would there be any conflict between getting a botox brow lift one day and getting photodynamic therapy for acne the next day? I have a long weekend and wonder if it would be safe to try to do both close together.

Hello,

We are not certain if you are referring to Photodynamic Therapy with LED light or Aminolevulinic Acid with PDT for acne.  If it's the former, we would suggest waiting a few days post-Botox treatment.  If it's the latter, we suggest waiting until you are no longer flaking and red.

Thanks for your question.  Waiting 24 hours should give the toxin time to be absorbed properly and the light therapy should not have any impact on the results.  I would not do both treatments on the same day, but as long as you wait a day or longer, it will be fine.  You can also ask your dermatologist to be sure they agree.  Best of luck!

I would not combine PDT for acne and botox neuromuscluar relaxer injection on the same day but the next day would be fine.
