Does my open bite look like its coming back? (photo)

Question

I got my braces off a few months ago, and have worn my retianers religiously. I have a pair of essix retainers and one set of regular ones with a tongue crib in it. One tooth shifted a few degrees and now im wearing invisalign and im afraid that my tongue thrust is pushing my teeth in my sleep. Does it look bad? If so, what can I do?

Hi Emily, from the angle of these photos, it looks like you still have an open bite but I am sure it is much better after having braces. I almost always suggest bonded retainers on the back's of the upper & lower teeth in open bite cases. Open bite teeth will move/relapse very rapidly. You could wear your Essex retainers full time for 2 weeks which may straighten migrating teeth and then see what your dentist advises for retaining the position.
