I have gotten laser genesis, but according to what I have read, it's main purpose is to stimulate collagen production. I want a laser treatment that kills off sebaceous glands or else reduces their oil production significantly.

Hi, Thank you for your question. Cleansing of the skin is always a good practice prior to the administration of any aesthetic treatment of the skin. As the skin was not penetrated, the risk to you of an adverse event is low. Hope that this helps put your mind at ease.
I usually have my patients stop using tretinoin cream, salicylic acid, or vitamin C products 3 days prior to laser treatments. I suggest waiting 72 hours before restarting them because you do not want to make the skin more sensitive to the laser.
I generally have my patients space out their laser genesis appointments every 2 weeks as well, however because the procedure is rather mild I wouldn't worry about not being exact on the timing. I've had patients come in for a second treatment as soon as 7 days after their first with no...
