Can I do laser hair removal while taking minocycline?

Question

I'm taking minocycline (100mg)? I've only been on it for two months. The first month I took it twice a day, the second month once a day, and I'm only going to take it for one more month every other day.

minocycline is a photosensitive antibiotic medication.  you should not get laser hair removal while on any photosensitive medication.  this should be detailed in any prescreening laser paperwork

Minocycline is known to be a photosensitizing antibiotic. Thus, it increases your skin sensitivity to light. It is advisable to wait at least 7 days after finishing minocycline and before getting a laser hair removal (LHR) treatment . LHR devices use light of different wavelengths and, after such a treatment, you should take proper care in covering the lasered parts of body and avoiding sun exposure for a couple of days.

There is no contraindication for having laser hair removal while on minocycline as long as there are o infections in the areas being treated.
