Fibroids are uterine tumors that would not interfere with breast surgery, unless they are associated with bleeding and anemia that would make ANY surgery unsafe.Fibroadenomas are benign breast tumors (non-cancerous growths) commonly associated with fibrocystic breast changes seen in up to half of women (which is why is should not be called "fibrocystic disease"). Unless these are multiple or large and could therefore interfere with the detection of breast cancer, fibroadenomas would not make breast surgery unsafe. But these are general answers to nonspecific questions that need to be answered in the context of a personal examination of your breasts, family history, and aesthetic goals. See one or more ABPS-certified plastic surgeons and discuss your individual details. It will not be a waste of time. Best wishes! Dr. Tholen
Maddie,Generally speaking, a stable fibroid would not preclude you from undergoing breast surgery. To be sure, meet with you gynecologist to make sure your fibroids are not a problem for you health wise. Please don’t hesitate to reach out if you have any more questions.I hope this was helpful,Dr. Daniel BarrettPlastic SurgeryBeverly Hills, CA
Thank you for your question. Assuming you are referring to a uterine fibroid, this would not interfere with proceeding with a breast lift as long as you are not severely anemic from bleeding related to the fibroid.Best of luck,
Hello dear, thanks for yourquestion and provided information as well..The breasts may lose their elasticity and firmness which can be caused bydifferent factors such as pregnancy, massive weight loss, lactation and aging. To reaffirm the breasts and restore the natural look your surgeon can perform amastopexy or breast lift. A breast lift restores a firmer, perkier, and moreaesthetically pleasing shape to sagging breasts. This not only can improvea patient’s appearance by restoring her youthful, feminine proportions, but also help bras and swimsuits fit more comfortably and attractively. Byremoving excess, stretched out skin, reshaping the breast tissue, and raisingthe nipple & areola into a more forward position, a cosmetic surgeon cancreate a more youthful breast contour. Stretched, large areolae canalso be reduced during breast lift surgery, creating an overall better proportioned, natural looking breast…
The short answer is NO it should have no affect on your ability to have breast surgery unless associated with other medical problemsDr Corbin
