Looking for guidance here, not criticism...Im a 29 y/o male and I lost the crown off my 1st molar root canal about 8 years ago leaving a stump. Over the years, the stump started losing small pieces until nothing was left except a jagged tooth shard and some tooth chunks stuck in the gum. (See photo) I have never felt pain in the area. Im curious as to what my options are as far as what to do now and to know what could happen if I don't get this fixed soon. Thank you!

Possible I guess yes, probable no. If the crown is made correctly it can only go on in one way. For it to go on backwards the tooth would either have to be prepared the same on both sides or else the crown will not fit.The real answer is that for the crown to go on backwards would normally mean...
I sounds like your dentist has been attempting to adjust your bite so you are not hitting to hard on your new crowns. If he began adjusting down your lower teeth he is most likely concerned that adjusting further on the new crowns would make them too thin and susceptible to...
