Had my cheeks augmented four days ago with Radiesse.. I'm wondering if my cheeks are too big for my face? And could my cheeks still be swollen? When I'm not smiling they seem fine but when I smile not sure if it's a good look. Any suggestions?
Answer: Diffusing the radiesse may resolve the issue Radiesse is a stimulatory filler that is an excellent option for patients who desire a longer-lasting filler alternative to hyaluronic acid dermal fillers. In our office, we use Radiesse to complement structural areas of the face and contour bony prominences. Our office also is a center of excellence for filler complication treatments and we see patients who have been treated by other doctors and have undesirable results from Radiesse or other long-lasting fillers. We have treatment options available for Radiesse filler nodules, granulomas, and soft tissue thickening. The first step would be to diagnose the nodularity and determine whether there is an option for surgical vs. non-surgical removal. Surgical excision is a possibility in some patients; whereas others with more diffuse fillers may benefit from intralesional therapy using scar modulators and enzymes and kenalog. Radiesse complications may be long-lasting and prompt action is key. Patients who have no access to an expert in the field should begin gentle massage of the areas of nodularity with Plato’s Scar Serum twice daily. RF and invasive lasers can actually do more damage by stimulating further collagen growth. Best, Dr. Karamanoukian Realself100 Surgeon

Answer: Cheeks Radiesse Filler Thank you for your RealSelf question and photos. It was a great idea to include the photos with and without your smile. I advise my Radiesse patients and other filler patients that post-procedural swelling will resolve in approximately 1 week. Radiesse is also uniquely constructed with a gel vehicle that dissolves at the 3-month mark. Your doctor may have anticipated some of this loss and in one week you will likely find that this was a perfect treatment. Sometimes it takes a few extra weeks for this to occur. Definitely if you have any questions I recommend talking to your doctor. Good luck! Dr. Holy

Answer: Radiesse Results Radiesse can cause swelling which will resolve on its own in 2-4 weeks. You can still expect some swelling for several more days before you see optimal results. I suggest you speak to your physician if you are upset. Best, Dr. Emer

Answer: Radiesse cheek lift Thanks for your question. Yes, you can absolutely still have swelling at this point so I would not consider this the final look. Give filler injections about what weeks to judge the end result.Best,Lisa Vuich, MD
