My chin looks fine when I smile and don't close my lips and I'm happy with it. However when I close my lips it looks very recessed and bad. I also have overbite/overjet and recently got braces for it and soon will get elastics, but I'm not sure it will solve the problem. Do you think the issue is bone, or protrusive lower teeth/overbite? Will braces make my chin look like it does when I smile, when my mouth is closed, or would I need some type of surgery/augmentation. Thanks

Answer: Would braces/elastics fix my recessed chin or would I need surgery? Look inti DNA Appliance and Epigenetic Orthodontics.
Thank you for your question. I would recommend consulting with your orthodontist to find out what they would suggest would be orthodontically the fastest method of fixing your midline. Another alternative are porcelain veneers.
Best of luck.
