Answer: White stuff after dental surgery Hi:The white stuff you are referring to is the healing process of the gum tissue. In the initial stage gum appears white then it will become pink as it matures and heals. Please do not remove it. It is always best to consult with your surgeon about any concerns you have.Best,Dr. Maddahi

Answer: White stuff around dental implants ... Hi there, That image is not very clear, the white stuff could be good or bad. It may simply be avascular new tissue forming over the wound area which is good and means your implant surgery site is healing over. It could also be pus or infectious discharge if the area has developed a secondary infection. The site also looks red, you should definitely go in for a follow up with your treating doctor. Good luck!

Answer: "White stuff" around gums after bone graft and implant. This appearance could be due to an exposed resorbable membrane and if the area could not be completely covered with gum tissue at the time of surgery, this appearance may be normal. It's always better to address any concerns with your treating surgeon, because if anything needs to be done for this area, the sooner the better.

Answer: White stuff around gums after dental implant if you have any concerns regarding the healing of a dental surgical procedure I would recommend calling your dentist to have the area looked at. Stitches serve their purpose after 3-4 days and often become looser as the tissue heals and the swollen area shrinks. This is normal. Did the implant surgeon place a bone graft? Did they place a resorbable membrane? Although the goal is to get primary closure of the surgical site, often the membrane can get exposed during healing. Sometimes particles of the bone graft can escape. Keeping the membrane clean with daily use of a gentle hydrogen peroxide is often recommended until the area closes over. Caution is always best so call your dentist to have them evaluate.

Answer: Graft is open From the picture it shows that the graft is now open and stitches are lost and you need to contact your doctor ASAP to restitch it back before you lose the graft. 2nd main precaution I see, It is totally big big no and a big mistake that you lift your lip this way under any circumstances after a short period of time from this type of surgeries. That will lead by itself for the wound to open even if it was closed correctly from the first place. You need to be very careful in your lip motions as it is very crucial in the first 2-3 weeks until the wound is closed. Hope that helps.
