Hi I am planning to be in Turkey for about 10 days - is it safe to book my hair transplant, then have my rhinoplasty a few days later? These are by two different doctors but the buccal fat removal will be with the same doctor performing the rhinoplasty.
Answer: Is it safe to have a hair transplant a couple of days before rhinoplasty and buccal fact fat removal? Hello Shya90,My suggestion is to make sure both physicians speak to one another to make sure there is concurrence between the two with the understanding of what would be required for post-op recovery from the hair restoration while overlapping and undergoing the requirements and events the second physician will need to expose you to to execute the facial plastic surgery.Although this can be done you must realize if any complications arise from either it will be a trying time for you to ensure a good result all around .I am not saying this can’t be done , I understand the convenience of condensing your down time during recovery for both surgeries.I would say to help minimize infection, or graft damage I would make sure you have at least 10 days pass from the hair restoration procedure before undergoing the rhinoplasty and buccal fat removal. Just be prepared for at least significant facial swelling and bruising at the minimum and depending on the type of hair restoration procedure FUE vs FUT strip , the residual FUT discomfort in the donor region can be trying and additive to the rhinoplasty recovery. Good luck to you .Dr. D

Answer: Hair transplant and rhinoplasty You would better to plan first HT and then wait 10 days for rhinoplasty. But you have to wait at least 2 weeks after rhinoplasty for hair restoration surgery because your position may be prone during the graft harvest that may harm nose job, bleeding or lead to edema.
