I recieved laser treatment two years ago on my face. They used a laser called Picosure to treat some acne scars that i had. Ever since the treatment my skin had never been the same. Its redenned now permanently aftet i recieved 5 sessions. It has a ruddy look about it. I want to try something to fix this but scared of going back for laser. Any thoughts? My skin is quite fair. After i had the laser treatment my face looked very very red.
Answer: PicoUnsure Hi hannsiepoos,I'm sorry you did not see improvement with your skin using PicoSure. Of all the lasers we use, this one produces the most consistent and pleasing results. I hope you are able to see a plastic surgeon or dermatologist in your area to look at your before and after pictures. Frequently there can be other reasons for changes in our skin that can be addressed with hormones or skin care. Of course, an in person examination is required to give any useful recommendations. I hope this helps.Best,Dr. B

Answer: This is odd occurance since in my practice Picosure worked great for majority of my patient. Thank you for your question! This is odd occurance since in my practice Picosure worked great for majority of my patient. The possibility is that right settings were not used. I would advise you to make an appointment with experience provider to try to determine the cause to your redness and if there are other options for you to improve your skin appearance. Maybe you can consider testing treatments on small area of your body before proceeding with the full treatment on your face. Best of luck!

Answer: Picosure and acne scars Does Picosure Focus work on acne scars? Yes, but IMO they are best used on early acne scars (less than 4 months old, mild scars, and in ETHNIC skin types). Why ethnic skin? It is because the wavelength targets melanin, in turn causing a cascade of events to remodel collagen. If you have lighter skin types, I would use fractional lasers and or microneedling RF insulation with PRP over Picosure. The key to scar removal or improvement, is to match the skin type, scar type and downtime. As for the redness, this can be treated with V Beam vascular lasers. The video link below will take you to a resource. I embedded all the videos in one page to help. For example deep ice pick scars, and narrow box car scars can be treated with TCA CROSS peels, mixed scars, rolling, and atrophic scars treated with fractional devices such as Fraxel, fractional lasers, PRP and INFINI radiofrequency. Atrophic scars (depressions) can be treated with either fat grafts, or with HA dermal fillers. Tethered and anchored scars are best treated with surgery. The majority of patients will have a collection of different scar types, and hence a tailored treatment METHOD will be best. Careful examination, especially under angled lighting with scar mapping will give you an understanding of what are the best options for your scars. All the best, Dr Davin Lim. Acne scar dermatologist specialist. Brisbane, Australia.
