Hi,I am a 13 soon turning 14 year old. I am an African-American and I have really large lips. I have been made fun of them since I was 9 years old and still today. Every time I look in a mirror,I see my lips taking over my face. I already know the side effects of getting lip reduction done and discussed this with my mother. Should I get Lip Reduction Surgery?

Lips can dramatically be reduced, reshaped. This I do under local anesthesia in most cases in the office with minimal downtime for the patient. Reduction I do by removing lip tissue on the inner aspect of the lip(s) so the scar is usually not visible.
You should have the rhinoplasty done first in order to avoid blood supply issues that could occur if done after the lip reduction. Check out my Facial Plastics website for more information on both procedures.
