Can hair still grow back if the loss is caused by the tightness of a durag (type of head scarf)?

Strictly speaking, if the duration of durag use had been short (ie just several week) hair regrowth has a high likelihood of returning. If use is many months to many years, chances go down. I generally advise anyone with concerns about potential hair loss from durag use to see a dermatologist. Overall hair loss from durag use is not common and ons needs to be sure that another cause of the hair loss is actually the main reason.

A head scarf would have to be constantly tight without taking it off for it to produce traction alopecia.  I would want to see what you are wearing
