How high is the required platelet count for PRP for hair loss?

I have received 3 hair transplants. The last was one was 500 grafts. I am 71 years old. My platelet count is 175,000. Am I not too good a subject for PRP ? That is it may not work well.

In general, I do CBC before PRP not just to check the platelets but also make sure there is no anemia. Platelet of 175,000 is in normal range ( 150,000-400,000 is the normal range). Your age might be an issue regarding the optimal response. You may try it and see if it works or not. There is no other way to find out if you are a good candidate or not.

A platelet count of 175,000/µL is within the normal range and would not automatically exclude you from PRP treatment. However, the effectiveness of PRP depends on many factors, including age, the degree of hair loss, hair follicle viability, overall health, and the specific PRP preparation method used. A consultation with a hair restoration specialist would be necessary to assess whether PRP is likely to provide meaningful benefit in your particular case. Also, given the fact that you underwent 3 procedures, the last one being 500 grafts, I suspect that the donor area has reached its limits in terms of extraction posibilities. Further benefit might be to also add Minoxidil topical solution.
