Retin-A prior to tummy tuck and breast augmentation surgery?

I've read in several "google searches" that tretinoin helps speed up wound healing, especially with laser peels. I'm getting a mommy makeover in October. Could I apply it to my c-section scar and at my umbilical level to promote wound healing?

the best treatment for scar improvement after tummy tuck/mommy make over is fractional laser or microneedling starting 3-6 weeks after sutures are removed. consider dermaflage and/or silicone based scar gel.  Best, Dr. Emer.

Many forms of Retin-A are too strong for use off the face and can cause burns, hyperpigmentation, and irritation when applied from the neck down (none of which are good). It would be best to talk to your physician about his/her recommendations for postcare. Don't follow what you read online - talk to your physician and go from there.
