I have a Lap Band and it has a hole in it how much would it cost to have it fixed? I am gaining weight and hate it.

the price of fixing your band depends on where its leaking. depending on bmi and insurance you may do better to convert to a different procedure.

I do not do bands any more and most of the bariatric surgeons in my area do not either.  However it sounds like you did well with the gastric band.  How much it costs to fix a hole in the band depends on where the hole is.  If it is in the port, you need to have the port changed.  If it is in the catheter, most band catheter are long enough so that you just cut the part with the hole and re-connect.  Both of these issues can be fixed under local anesthesia at an ambulatory surgery center. If the hole is in the band it self, then the band will need to be replaced.  A new band out of the box costs $2500 to $3500 plus anesthesia and surgeon's fee.  Depending where you have done hospital vs ambulatory surgery center the cost will be $6500 to $8000.

Most holes are by the port and they are fairly easy to fix without much cost. Sometimes it is covered by insurance, but it will allow you to get back to weight loss.
